Who is Katyayani?
The story of Katyayani begins with the great sage Katyayana, who performed deep penance to have Goddess Durga born as his daughter. The gods answered his prayers, and Durga took birth in the form of Katyayani to protect the world from the tyranny of the demon Mahishasura.
